João Pedro Monteiro is in charge of the Research Department of the National Azulejo Museum since 1988. He holds a License degree in History and a specialization in Art, Heritage and Restoration and attended the Senior Management Course in Public Administration at the National Administration Institute (INA). He has developed research projects on Portuguese azulejos and faience which resulted in temporary exhibitions at the National Azulejo Museum. He also headed the scientific commissions of several exhibitions in Portugal and abroad and authored several articles on azulejos and faience in the catalogues of national and international exhibitions and in scientific journals.
