Ana Venâncio

Researcher at Az from September 2013 to December 2017. She attended the Master’s programme in Art, Heritage and Restoration Theory of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, where she began writing a dissertation entitled Estado e Igreja: uma separação com consequências para o património. O caso do azulejo (1910-1940) (State and Church: A separation with consequences for heritage. The case of the azulejo). The work focuses on the title coverings found in religious buildings nationalized following the Republican 1911 decree-law and is being supervised by Maria João Neto and co-supervised by Rosário Salema de Carvalho. Ana Venâncio holds a License degree in Art History from the same university.  

From February to July 2013 she attended a curricular internship (within the Inventory Techniques and Artistic Heritage module) in this research group, centred on the Cortiço & Netos collection (20th century patterned azulejos).

Her main research interests include the azulejo as an artistic heritage and provenance studies.
