Ana Almeida

PhD student in Art History at the School of Arts and Humanities, working on Designer ceramics for architectural integration. The collection of the National Azulejo Museum (1949-1970).  

She is a member of Az – Azulejo Research Network, where she collaborated on the projects Az Infinitum – Azulejo Indexation and Referencing System and Cataloguing Portuguese Tile Patterns.

She obtained a Master’s degree in Museology and Museography (2010) from the Faculty of Fine Arts with the dissertation Da Cidade ao Museu e do Museu à Cidade, uma Proposta de Itinerário pela Azulejaria de Autor na Lisboa da Segunda Metade do Século XX (From the city to the museum and from the museum to the city. A tour of Lisbon’s designer tiles from the second half of the 20th century). Her main research interests include 20th century tile decorations in their relationship with the architecture and as museum items, mainly in the modern age.
