Editor-photographer of Portugal’s best-selling books on cultural heritage, Libório Manuel Silva has devoted special attention to the azulejo, as attested by the various works published in the last years and the millions of bags from the supermarket chain Pingo Doce bearing his photographs of tile patterns. His involvement with Az – Azulejo Research Network dates back to 2015, to the works published by Centro Atlântico, but it has since gone on to include other initiatives, such as the photographic surveys of specific tile sets (as those of Lisbon’s Academy of Sciences, in 2018), the granting of images for scientific articles or the intense collaboration in the promotion of tile heritage using social networks, of which the campaigns #MeuQueridoMêsDeAgosto and #AzFRiday are the foremost examples (August 2019 and August-February 2022-2023).
